just the shonky shops (whatever that means) I assume you mean not the good shops.........well it isn't the case...many of the DVDs are first recorded in the cinema, and then refined, and re-recorded.......and it happens with many of the new releases...just ask them yourself in the shop, if you don't believe me.. they will tell you that themselves...if the film has been out for while it is usually pretty good....
I also bought about 100 DVD's most are good, many are ok....some just stop part way through the movie......many times it depends on the DVD player you are using, some are more sensitive than others..I obviously think it is worth the gamble too, but I also admit that the quality of many are not the best..but I am sure I will be buying another 50-100 this next trip..I accept the so-so quality..but if I really want a SPECIAL movie for my collection, I will purchase the original ..
I can't imagine that the quality of the DVD's you purchase, in I assume Australia, is the same as what you get in Bali, it sure isn't in the USA..but again I repeat, it is worth the gamble for the price, but you must admit it is a bummer when you're in the middle of a movie and it just stops!!!!!
