we loved the Rama Beach, pool area is BIG with swim up bar, good brekies, friendly staff, free shuttle to Kuta 4 times a day, we stayed in a new villa which was lovely. Tuban is alot quieter but it's only 10mins or less in a taxi ($2.aus), we walked a few times but it's hot work! had to keep stopping for a bintang !
SA Cafe across the road from the Rama is very good and cheap! The man that owns it used to be the Minister for Tourisum, very interesting person to talk to(if you ever have any trouble go see him)
There is also a mini mart and internet cafe across the road, an ATM at the front of the hotel.
Pantai Rest. down the road is on the beach and a great place to eat and also a lane way up past the internet cafe on the left with stalls,shops dvd, leather etc
we bought dvd's there which were fine
