There is ALOT to see and do, snorkeling, tours, etc ect and as said not as busy as Bali.
It only costs $40.aus to fly over from Bali which is a very scenic short flight (20 mins)
I can recommend Mimpimanis Homestay in Kuta (2 klm north) and Bulan Baru Hotel,(very nice and across the road from a beautiful beach that you will have all to yourself) near Mangsit, have also heard the Holiday Inn is good if you like the bigger hotels.
