You have to be a silver member in order to get the extra 10k allowance. Just one annoying fact about points with Thai is that you don't get the full points if you have a ticket is some classes. We bought two tickets to Phuket for October. We could only get 1 cheap ticket in W class, this only allows half the points. The other is in Q and gets full award points.

Just seen this little gem on the ROP website... so now I'm not sure if my W ticket purchased ages ago will earn any points all... drat or words to that effect!!

***Currently *G/V/ W booking classes earn 50% of actual miles flown. From July 1, 2008 onwards travel in these booking with THAI on international route classes will no longer earn miles***
