Staff at Bangkok airport might be pulling off a little scam here and getting their mitts on lots of nice free goodies. I noticed leaving Perth there was no probs taking duty free liquids onto the plane provided they were purchased at the airport shops and unopened. This makes sense, no problems, no security risks, but at BKK they're confiscating these things. Legally one is entitled to a receipt and could collect the confiscated goods at a later date (I believe) but at BKK you just lose your liquids. Nice for the staff, they must be getting heaps of drinks & perfume every day.
