Grace ... your time to go cdnt be better ... the dollar is sooooo high - I think it was 93 something to the USD last nite and its 29.38 to the baht on oanda this morning. Looks like it will keep going up and up!!!

I did find a good site as a link on this forum months ago to basic thai speaking, but cant find it now ... perhaps some friendly forumite has a link to it they could post for you ... so you have a bit of time to practice before you go!!!!

4 more sleeps!!!

Kitty

PS ... remember if you are flying Thai airways that their luggage limit for checked in is actually 30kg flying out and 25kg flying home AND NOT 20KG EACH WAY AS STATED ON YOUR TICKET!!!!! And also they will check in all your luggage as a group and then total that ... if the total is under the limit then thats fine, even if one of your bags is over. I was told some airlines do this, but didnt know until we got to the airport at Sydney if Thai did - AND THEY DO!!! This comes in very handy if you are travelling in a large group. Also ... not once did they weigh or check sizes of our carry-on luggage, even tho on one of our flights my carry-on suitcase was actually over 10kg (So ... 3kg over the limit of 7kg) I just was quite conscious of not struglling to lift it - even tho it was bloody heavy!!!)
Also At BKK airport coming home (because of the new limits on carry-on liquids) we were not able to buy duty free alcohol, as the shop was before the checkpoint and if Id bought it, I wd have had to throw it out! This was annoying cos it was very very cheap. I remember being able to do this leaving Vietnam 2 years ago. Same applies to perfumes over 100ml.

Anyway ... enough from me ... happy sleep counting!!!
