Dont get angry with anybody as anger in Thailand is frowned apon even though Thais get angry as well?

Dont ride in Tuk Tuks unless you want the experience, you will possibly be ripped off or taken somewhere you dont want to be,this is so the driver gets commision or fuel voucher for bringing you to a trader ect plus you could feel sick from the fumes.

In Bangkok use only Taxi,s with a meter, tell the driver to use the meter,if he refuses or says he doesnt understand you then get him to stop and get out! There are plenty of taxi's everywhere and you may get one in three that tries it on.The driver will not get angry if you get out as you have "called his bluff".

Dont get people at the front of hotels to hail a taxi or order one for you as you will likely pay double or triple the fare as they dont always work for the hotel, they just work in front of it.

All in all Thais are very honest people and if a Thai sees you getting ripped off by sombody then they are likely to have a go at the person ripping you off.

I find Bangkok and other parts of Thailand safer than some in Europe so i wouldnt worry any more than going to town anywhere in the world.

Change your money on the street at a money change booth as the hotels usualy charge high commission and give you a lesser rate.

Some overseas banknotes you cannot change at money changers ,these are usually the ones that have been forged in the past in your own country and wont take them just in case.

Dont eat in really expensive resturants, food in Thailand is quite cheap so you dont need to pay western prices, some of the eating places may not look as swish as the expensive ones but the food will be as safe and good if not better just cheaper in price.

Street food is basically safe to eat in my opinion as I have never got sick from it.

Brush your teeth with bottled water and use aquim gel or other medicated self drying hand wash before you eat or smoke and you wont get sick.
