I think the duty-free shops in Australian airports must be laughing all the way to the bank now that people can't buy duty-free elsewhere and take it back to Australia. They must be kissing the feet of the CAA. The fact that significant numbers of passengers hit the place virtually at once also means that duty-free purchases take much longer than they do at departure point where we all arrive at different times. We lose time as well as money.
