Hi Laura,

Early September in Samui should be fine but as Rob says, you take a chance later in the month. Chaba has 2 properties on Chaweng. We stayed at the Chaba Resort which is in central Chaweng but I think the one you are looking at is at the Northern end. If you want a Kata Beach feel, look at properties at the Southern end of Chaweng or even Chaweng Noi. The best part of the beach is to the south and it is alot quieter and less crowded. I've stayed at the Chaweng Resort which is 2 1/2 star at best but in the perfect location and you will never have to fight for beach space. There is a place next door called the Chaweng Cabana Resort which looked really nice. It gets varied reviews on sawadee.com but I looked at one of the deluxe beachfront bungalows and it looked like great value to me.
I think that any of the resorts in this vacinity would be better for you than the North end of the beach.
