Where abouts are you staying in Phuket? I havnt been there since the mid 90's also in october!
At first was a bit worried as it was raining when we got there but in 12 nights it only rained for a few min's in the morning other than that it was great weather.
If you are able hire a scooter and try riding up the big hill towards Phuket town,not for the faint hearted,mind you dont think I would do it now.
