I should really clarify my remark that the northern beaches are "muddy" that's not correct, muddy was the wrong word, for whatever reason the water never seems to be crystal clear like Chewang, I think it's probably due to silt rather than mud. That's why Chewang and Lamai were the first beaches developed and remain the most popular, BoPhut & MeaNam just don't have very nice sea water at their beaches.
