Reading these opinions, just show, how difficult it is to sugest a restaurant!

Baan rim pa is maybe a nice place to sit, and you will have a beautiful evening, no doubt! the food is farangised, and without being awful, is not of the authentic quality a place like this should have! Touristic, but not great!

There is another one, on the left between Patong and Kamala. Nice views, less fancy, but much better food!

In general, I was very disappointed in Phuket! You can find good food, but not refined, especially when you pay more money!

The gay owned place (I am not btw), The Seahawk in a little soi, south Patong beach (near the Zen), has more refined Thai food. Prices are better then in Baan Rim Paa. it is a lovely little restaurant, but of course, you do not have the atmosphere by the sea!

You have some great seafood (better then on beachroad) In the little restaurants on the parallel road. From corner Bangla, go north, and 100 meter on the left, you can find them! they are also touristic, but there are good one's, like cocaonut. Was a bit less then other years this year, but they are not the only one!

If you want to spend money, and you are in kata, I think the "Boathouse" and Mom's tri kitchen are way better then Baan rim Pa. Honestly, staying in kata, for the food, I go in the main street that connects the beach road, with Patak-road! There are two small local shop/restaurants; with both a mama cooking. One cooks the food right for you when you are waiting! Coming from the beach-road to the left 3/4 of the street!
Just simple, friendly and good. You can eat a whole month there for one visit in a expensive luxury restaurant! And the food will be more authentic and yes, sometimes better!

Ratri Jazz restaurant, was very refined, but with the new cook, realy average now!

New moon, Marc, I have been there because you suggested it! Maybe there is another "moon", or maybe I mistaken with a "sunset", but if we are talking about the same, it is on the left coming from the beach. Very unfriendly and mediocre! But maybe I was not in the right restaurant!

In Rawai, some of the local little restaurants are great! Mama making you fresh shrimps, cheaper then in Patong!

Phuket is not always easy! Many restaurants adapt to Western taste. it is sometimes difficult to find a real good green curry chicken! Most are to sweet, and are turned into a soup instead of a curry!

I had a Thai restaurant in Antwerp, love real Royal Thai cuisine, but enjoy also just well made Thai food!
