if the Chiang Mai Thai house doesn't work out, I'd also like to reccommend the Royal Princess, we stayed there for about 3 nights and it was a lovely place. the rooms are nice and comfortable, the buffet brekkie was good and the street that the hotel is on is the main street that the night market is on every night.
