Well the latest news is that Peter Costello has decided he does not want to be the leader of the opposition nor deputy leader and he will retire from politics at the end of his next 3 year stint in opposition.
Kevin Rudd just gave a press conference and mentioned that SBY was the first to call and congratulate him last night and invite him to Bali for the climate convention on Bali.
Mark I don't think Bali or the Balinese will ever be the same as before the great tourist boom and when Legian was just paddy. Lombok may be OK if the Balinese stop dissuading the eco tourists from going there which they do an a regular basis. I urge all not to listen to the predjuical views of the Balinese toward Lombok and go there as there are many there who depend on tourism and they are suffering very badly at the moment due to Senggigi being a ghost town because of the lack of people visiting. Please help in promoting Lombok as it is the Bali of old and retains the culture and tropical beauty that has disappeared from Bali.
I don't know what the Australian Gov' can do about the land and villa rip offs happening mate it's really up to the Indonesian Gov' to fix their corruption problems especially in customs, immigration and BKPM along with the land and housing ownership laws.
