Have you considered a Guesthouse?
Hi,
We were in Chiang Mai earlier in the year and stayed at Chiang Mai Thai House, an upmarket guesthouse. It has a pool, internet and restaurant area, rooms with a/c if you want that or fans instead for a cheaper price. Rooms are serviced daily if you wish, just leave the sign on the door and they will do them. No complaints, we stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed the location, just a two minute walk to Tapae Road, where there are numerous cafes. Easy to walk to the night markets, which we often did after dinner, and if your too tired or it is hot only a short tuk tuk ride back to the guesthouse.
They have a website so look them up.
If you can arrange to be there for a Sunday for the walking markets do so, they are great and have alot of different items that we didn't see at the night markets.
Cheers Lucy
