hi everyone,

my boyfriend will be joining me here in thailand next week. as an american staying for less than 30 days, he'll come in with the tourist visa exempt status. the thai ministry of foreign affairs website states,

"Foreigners entering Thailand under the Tourist Visa Exemption category must possess adequate finances for the duration of stay in Thailand (i.e., cash 10,000 Baht per person and 20,000 Baht per family)."

is this requirement enforced (he flies into suvarabhumi)? i came in with a non-immigrant B visa, so i've got no idea what happens with tourists...just want him to be prepared when he gets here.
