As you proberly will stay in Kata,, try the last restaurant ON the beach to the south.

I think it is called just "Thai kitchen", near the "reggae cocktail bar".

It may not look so fancy, or even clean, service, is not that friendly (depends on your waiter/waitress), but Thai food is tasty here, better, then many other places. It is also nice that you can eat by the beach and have a good view. Thai food is the norm, don't think farang food is interesting. Cheap and good.

If you have a bike, and you come from Kata descending the hill driving into Karon, on the beach-road , not on the beach though, are on you right handside all kind of small eateries one next to the other.

We tried the first, coming from Kata, disgusting food, so we did not tried others fore a while. But on another day, we tried the 3rd last, with Kata behind you. Good thai food,very friendly lady, also farang, but did not tried! The Panaeng curry was to die for! Went back two more times, consistent!

A very special eatery is in Kata Noi, so over the hill (small kata!) On the south of the beach a mama is cooking between the rocks! Special athmosphere and a long wait! Not have red and green curry when I visited, but the yellow curry was very good!
