Default Loy Nava

Kyshel - you MUST try the Loy Nava cruise - it is gorgeous. It's a converted antique rice barge, very romantic and beautifully done.

Seats about 40 people so it's not one of those huge "cruise ships" with hundreds of people and blaring music/lights.

It is very tasteful and the food was excellent (I've been travelling to Thailand every year for about 15 years and so I know and love my Thai food!). It's a set menu - very generous and lots of variety and there are seafood and vegetarian options as well. Drinks were not too pricey either.

Cost was about Aus$50 pp including round trip transfers from your hotel. There are two departures - one at 6pm and the other at 8pm from the pier next door to The Oriental hotel.

There are a couple of sets of Thai dancing (seems to be compulsory on these things!) which although a bit touristy, but honestly quite good and not too intrusive.

You don't have to share tables, which is great and we really enjoyed it enormously - I would go again, which is saying something as I'm really not generally into those sorts of tours.

I'm sure your hotel concierge can book it but the discounts on the net are quite substantial - Loy Nava Dinner Cruises in Bangkok, Thailand. Dining - restaurant - sightseeing.

I don't think you will be disappointed - food is great, beautiful decor, excellent service, and you sort of feel like you are stepping back in time being on this lovely antique vessel. Oh, and of course the views of Bangkok are superb - all in all, a wonderful, memorable night out!

Have fun!
