Kuningan is nothing that will be of much interest to the tourist...it is the holiday that comes every 6 months 10 days after Galungan which are both important for the Balinese (Hindu) as it is a religious time for them with many ceremonies...it takes place primarliy in their temples with lots of offerings...it really won't affect you and there is really nothing to see...at least that's my experience..I've been there many times during these holy days..
The time of year you may want to go would be during Nyepi (it may be misspelled...) I seem to have a mental block as to the spelling of this quiet day...there are festivals and a parade etc. with Ogoh Ogoh (paper mache monsters) they march through the street on the eve and then light on fire...a big celebration, and then on the day the airports are closed no planes are allowed to land in Bali, you must remain in your hotel/compound...there is no one on the streets, employees remain at the hotel and you can't use lights etc.......plus you will see many ceremonies on the beach where they sacrific chichens, etc..(they throw em in the ocean but they come back to the beach) anyway this is interesting ...but not Kuningan..Have a wonderful holiday
