If you get the chance then check out kanchanaburi, its 2 and a half hours coach journey west of bangkok.. I was in Thailand for 6 months and made 3 visits to that place.. Loved it!! Full of history, day time is peaceful, but also had some crazy nights out!! Depends what you are after :)
