Default Nut allergies

Hi all,

I'm considering a trip to Thailand at the end of October for 2 weeks. I'm still not entirely sure about where to go, taking the weather into consideration, so I'm open to suggestions. But my bigger question is, is it possible to travel in Thailand with allergies to nuts and sesame seeds?

My allergies aren't deadly - I'll get a mild-strong allergic reaction, but I won't need to be rushed to a hospital or anything. But I still need to avoid it.

I've read about doing the following
- Learn the phrases that mean "I can't eat nuts", and prepare cards that have the phrases written down in Thai as well.
- Carry around a lot of dried food (granola bars, protein bars) in case you end up in an area where you can't get nut-free food

What do you guys think? thanks!
Ike
