Agree with the other posters here regarding the difficulty of getting your 'free' night. I have been a member for about 8 of the past 10 years. Drifted out and returned for business reasons. I was able to get the complimetary night in the early years, although never at a Sofitel, no matter how hard I tried and flexible I was prepared to be. I don't believe they actually make them available at Sofitel. Maybe 1 room every two months for legal compliance. In recent years, it has become impossible to get a night when you need it, even when there are availabilities at the hotel. Dining discount is worthwhile but should give you a discount on wine with your meal as well, particularly considering their price mark up percentage. The 50% discount on the room rates is generally no better than the internet rates available. On balance, I won't be renewing this card as not enough value for money.
