I would not be so sure that if the violence if it erupts will not also target Farrang. There is a lot of pent up anger up north that does not share the wealth of the tourist trade.

I am in Cambodia watching this on several different TV and media outlets knowing that I need to transit through Thailand to go to the Bangkok Airport for a flight to Bali in just a couple of weeks. I am looking at other ways of flying to Bali from Cambodia as a back up and I have been to Thailand probably 40 times in the last 12 years. (I used up a passport in less than 4 years)

I have heard things from my Thai Speaking long time in Thailand Farrang friends and they are nervous.

Also being in Cambodia is not the best place to be if the current administration in Thailand needs to rally the flag then a scuffle with Cambodia Over Prasat Preah Vihear would be just the thing to distract everyone.
