Last year there was a laundry next door to the Merlin.You will see it on your left when you stand looking at the beach. There are other laundries in Patong beach but then you will have to take all your washing there via tuktuk or bus, so it's probably easier to do it at the closer one.There is nowhere close other than the hotel itself to change money or cheques so you will have to go into town. There are numerous money changing kiosks in Patong Beach and we never had any problems with any of them. We also changed money and cheques in the bank at Central Festival. I have stayed at the Merlin Beach Resort twice so if you need any more info let me know.
