Im with you Angel, theres heaps of places to go in Singapore that are not touristy. Most people hang out on Orchard Rd and think this is all there is to Singapore. There are beautiful open space parks, reservoirs with boating activities, spectacular gardens etc etc.

We will soon be heading back for the 9th time and normally stay a week at a time, we still have not seen everything! Jump on the mrt and go out to the suburbs, good shopping without the high end price tags. The food is fantastic and their food courts are the best, easy to eat for S$5.

Howwver I do remember when Clarke Quay was a nice place to go day or night, little markets, equipment for kids to play on, flea markets etc now its horrible, closed and stinking hot during the day, the only place open was Hooters haha. We avoid it like the plague now!

I agree with Emdee, East Coast Park is good and lots of fun people watching
