I would say it's down about 50% but that's a good thing. It's too busy and lets face it Thailand is spoiled. The beaches are dirty and theres buildings and building works everywhere. It's the Benidorm of the east.
Too many tourists and the Thais are building over sites of natural beauty and destroying their country for a quick buck to cash in on the tourist trade. The west maybe in recession for a few years to come so I predict it's gonna be down next year too.
One of the less endearing things about Thais is they will do anything for money regardless.
