I won't be in Bali in September I'm sorry to say however you might like to try Suri Wathi Beach hotel in Legian. It's been improved considerably over the years and is a very popular place for budget travellers. They now also offer rooms with more features such as hot water which look very confortable and the price is still very reasonable. You're likely to meet up with some fellow travellers and hopefully find someone to travel with.
