HI
You can get your glasses done in a couple of hours at any one of several large optical shops on the ground floor of the MBK centre. You can take your prescription with you or have a free eye test before getting done. They have the latest equipment and I have found it be be very good. I have found cost to be very cheap cpmpared to Australian prices. Try and get in around 10am for late afternoon pickup. Make sure you get a quote before proceeding. They will ask for a deposit (cash or card ).
For the woollen coat there a two places I think are worth considering. Rajawongse on 130 Sukumvit road, just near the Landmark hotel - email them at
jesse@loxinfo.co.th or check out their website. The other one worth looking at is Rajah's just around the corner and across the road from the Nana Hotel- (small unpretentious shopfront). Both are reputable places and the workmanship is first class. Prices will be similar at both places. Allow a couple of days for a good job and fitting. Be careful if you go to some of the others -there are a lot of very bad tailors around and you will be disappointed.
