I do not agree that "child sex and Thailand go very much together these days" Perhaps that is the sensationalized image projected by certain overseas newspapers but it is not true. I lived in Pattaya for 2 years and never saw "grown men walk about on the beach hand in hand in Pattaya with young (under age boys)." But you have to be careful here - what you see is not always what you think it is. When my wife and I lived in Pattaya her 11 year-old son used to come and stay with us during school hols. My wife would go to work in the mornings and phone me around lunchtime and ask me to take her son out for some lunch. I'm sure many tourists saw me walking around with that boy, and holding his hand when we crossed the street, and jumped to nasty conclusions. The fact that you post a police report about a Brit peodophile arrested in Pattaya doesn't mean much, if you took the time to surf around you could paste similar police reports from any country. I'm not saying these child sex crimes do not happen in Thailand, of course they do, but to suggest that tourism and foreigners are responsible is BS put out by the Thais because they always blame the foreigners. Yes, a small number of foreigner sickos are attracted to children. The huge majority, 99%, have sex with consenting adults.
